Home computers were very popular in the 80's. They were not just used by people to perform specific tasks. They were purchased to understand how a computer works, to write programs, without memory protection, clouds and sand boxes. I would like to see a computer on the maket again which is powerful enough to perform some modern day tasks (like accessing the Internet), but simple enough to understand for anyone. With an elementary operating system inside the ROM, hardware reset, included C and Assembler programming language, etc. On this page I want to share my "wishlist" for the next gen home computer. Home computers revived: - Simplified and transparent technology - Hardware easy to understand, transparent architecture - Easy to program - Very basic operating system (see screenshots below) - Simple CPU, GPU and Sound Processor - Graphic modes: 640 * 400, 24 bit color depth (text mode: 64 *25) 1280 * 800, 16 bit color depth (text mode: 128 * 50)
