Es una pregunta que si hizo alguien en el foro de Lemon64:
https://www.lemon64.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=74069 (https://www.lemon64.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=74069)
Entre las opciones que dice la gente:
- Cream: for the new color?
- Compact?
- Cost reduced
¿Alguien sabe si hay una explicación documentada?

El caso es que creo que lo lei en algun sitio pero no me acuerdo ahora :'(

Siguen con el tema, aquí hay uno que aporta algo mas:
Good question. From reading old COMPUTE! Articles and interviews I would guess the C stood for Cosmetic for the new case design and cream color. I don't think it is Cost reduced because when the 64C started selling to consumers in June 1986 the price actually went up. They raised the price to $199 from $159, what the previous street price was for the 64.
If you want to read more: COMPUTE!'s Gazette October 1986 interview with Nigel Shepherd Commodore North America.
Also CES coverage announcing new 64C: COMPUTE!'s Gazette Sept 1986.
Pero también surge otra pregunta :P
what did the D in 128D mean?
- Disk or Drive?
- Desktop?

The June / July 1986 issue of Commodore Power/Play calls it:
"this Contemporary 64".
At the same time Commodore release a number of other peripheral to be used with the already existing c128 or the new C64C.
